Unfortunately, crime is still very prevalence in the UK and house break ins are an all too common occurrence. There is no one way to avoid becoming a victim to a break in but there are things you can do to try and prevent it.
Firstly, you need to ensure that your doors are of a good quality. You should ideally have UPVC doors with high grade locks. Wooden doors, although pretty are often not the most secure. There is a wide selection of security doors for homes that do not look industrialised but still offer a high level of protection.
If you want to add that extra level of security then why not invest in a CCTV system or a doorbell camera. These systems allow you to see who is at your door as soon as they ring the bell, or on some models, as soon as they step on to your step. These can be a great way of allowing you to see who’s at the door before opening it and also record vital footage should someone attempt to break in.
Ideally you want to use a reputable door company who has security at the forefront of their mind. You may have to pay a little extra for a secure door, but a price cannot be put on peace of mind.
