Not many people know this but one of the first types of garage doors was a round the corner door. Of course it was slightly different than the types of round the corner doors today, but the idea was the same.

They used to be mainly built using timber panels yet today they can be aluminium or steel and electronically operated. Steel slats are ideal and they’re often used in round the corner doors, mainly because they help the door follow the curve of the wall, similarly to the way timber panels would work.

You can combine a traditional round the corner door with modern conveniences because there are some timber, electronically operated doors out there, yet steel or aluminium could prove to be a much more secure and reliable material.
